September marked seven years of Gathered Collab, and what a beautiful month of celebrating it was!
We spent the month treating our customers and celebrating this milestone with the people who have supported us along the way. After all of the Birthday festivities, we've finally had a moment to come up for air and it feels like the perfect time to share a little more about what is happening behind the scenes.
Seven years ago we started something that has grown into so much more than a shop.
Gathered Collab is our baby, our 11th child, if you like.
It's something the three of us have poured our hearts into and we are incredibly proud of what we have created together.
When we think of what makes Gathered Collab so special, it always comes back to our people. Our loyal customers, our wonderful team and the incredible relationships we've built with our suppliers have all played a part in shaping Gathered Collab into what it is today. We truly wouldn't be here without that support and it's something we are so grateful for.
So, what's next?
After seven years, we've made the decision to put Gathered Collab up for sale.
It's a decision we've given a lot of thought to. We still love what we do, we love working together, and we are incredibly proud of our team and the business we've built. But as we each look towards new opportunities and different paths, it feels like the right time to find someone who can take Gathered Collab into its next chapter.
Earlier this year, we thought we'd found the person to take over. While things didn't quite work out as we'd hoped, it gave us a chance to step back, reflect and realise just how important it is for us to find the right fit. We're firm believers that things happen for a reason and we're excited about the possibility of finding someone who shares our passion and can take what we have built to the next level.
With summer just around the corner, we're heading into one of Whitianga's busiest seasons. We'd love to see someone step in and make the most of the opportunity ahead, building on what we have created over the past seven years while bringing their own ideas and energy to the business.
In the meantime, it's business as usual for us! We'll be here doing what we love, welcoming you in and enjoying everything the warmer months bring.
Seven years of Gathered Collab is certainly something to celebrate. We're incredibly proud of what we've built, grateful for everyone who has been a part of the journey, and excited to see what the next chapter holds.
